Our Purpose
I arrived in Costa Rica in October of 2001. Previously I had no idea of where Costa Rica even was! I came for a business deal that ended up taking two years and changing the course of my life forever.
I accepted Christ as my savior in 1984. I was 24 years old. Shortly, thereafter, I got married. That marriage lasted for 18 years and produced four beautiful children. It ended in 2004. The years since my divorce have been the hardest and most painful of my life. However, in the midst of this challenge, God gave me a vision. You see, despite the turmoil of divorce, the pain of rejection and the heartache of being separated from my family, God has brought renewed inspiration into my life.
I find myself in one of the most beautiful places on earth. It is a country where God’s handiwork is displayed with unequaled grandeur at almost every corner. And I believe there is a great deal of healing potential in this natural beauty, if looked at from the proper perspective. This, I believe, is the purpose God inspired me to create the Moment on the Mountain ministry. As an opportunity to give back some of the blessings He has bestowed. I believe this is the essential source of healing from the scars that life can, and will, leave. That is, to learn that we must live to give.
