So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. I Corinthians 10:31

Welcome to Moment on the Mountain! The vision for this ministry was born through my own personal struggles. This is a ministry for men who are struggling with sin. Men who are struggling to find their walk with the Lord and renew their first love for Jesus Christ. Men who need a moment of inspiration, of quiet meditation, of fellowship with like strugglers. Men who need a Moment on the Mountain.

Program Summary

The Moment on the Mountain ministry is a weeklong journey of inspiration and recommitment to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Four times a year a small group of men gather to learn from each other’s struggles.

The ministry is based in Costa Rica. I like to refer to Costa Rica as “the last country God made.” It is a country full of the remarkable wonders of God’s creation. Costa Rica has stunning mountains, beautiful coasts, pristine rivers and rolling green countryside and lush tropical rainforests teeming with incredible biological diversity. There is no better location to get away and find inspiration and recommitment to the Creator.

The program starts immediately when your plane lands at the Juan Santamaria airport in San Jose, the capitol city of Costa Rica. You will be greeted by me (your leader and guide for the week) and transported to the hotel to meet other members of your group. Groups are limited to six men to give ample opportunity for open sharing and close fellowship. Over the course of eight days and seven nights you will take an incredible journey. Throughout we will focus our attention on the book of James. For me James has always been an incredible book filled with motivation and inspiration and practical guidance on how to be a living sacrifice for God. We will engage in study, prayer and discussion each day. However, we will also partake in incredible activities like rappelling down a 400 foot waterfall and rafting one of the most famous white water rafting rivers in the world, the Pacuare. We will also devote time to the indigenous peoples of Costa Rica. This will surely be a rewarding experience, as you will have an opportunity to share your life with these humble people. We will culminate our week with a hike to the summit of Cerro Chirripo. At around 12,500 feet, Chirripo is the highest peak in Costa Rica, the fourth highest in Central America and the 38th most prominent peak on the planet. Our goal is simple, to recommit our lives to the Lord and to return home with a fire burning within and the momentum to overcome the struggles we will face with a renewed spiritual vigor.
